This couple has a special place in my heart. Emily, my husband’s sister and my sister-in-law, said yes to Cameron, when he proposed to her recently on a trip to Boston.
I am so excited for the two of them as they begin their life’s journey together!! We spent some time together capturing their engagement photos, and despite the crazy heat, we had a lot of fun.
I have a unique relationship with Emily. Aside from my children, I cannot say I’ve known anyone since they were born, except for Emily.
When I was 10, our families were friends and neighbors. She was born within the month we all moved into the neighborhood. We celebrated birthday parties, BBQs and I occasionally got to babysit her (along with the help of my brother and mom). I remember always thinking she was the most beautiful and adorable baby I’d ever seen. She was always so happy, friendly and sweet. I simply adored her.
My opinion of Emily has not changed as she has grown in to a beautiful woman preparing to get married.
When I moved back to Minnesota after college, I had the pleasure of staying with her for almost a whole summer. We went on adventures, listened to songs on repeat in my car, and did art projects together. She was in my wedding when I married her brother Patrick. At that time, when I was 24 and she was 14, I looked forward to these years, in our 20s and 30s, when we were both grown up and could be friends and peers. I’m so glad that has transpired.
She’s been a beautiful aunt to my children. I’ve gotten to see her grow up into a strong, independently minded woman and watched her fall in love.
What a gift.
I am so excited and honored to be able to photograph their engagement session as well as their wedding next fall. Emily and Cam have been busy planning and I know their day is going to be absolutely magical. Congrats to you both!!! <3
