Caitlyn and Kris’ Wedding | Creeksbend Golf Course | New Prague Wedding Photography

Caitlyn and Kris exchanged vows at the beautiful Creeksbend Golf Course, October 14, 2017. Their formal Western wedding was full of beautiful western style details and I adored the bride and groom’s cowboy boots. When I met these two for the first time, I asked them how they met, how Kris proposed, and more questions to get to know them better. The bride’s brother had been friends with Kris for years and they met on a group event outing to an Apple orchard. I love this. It’s a similar story to how I met my own husband. As they told the story to me, their love of each other was evident.

Kris then proudly told me the story of his creative engagement proposal. He proposed to Caitlyn a week after her college graduation. He first took her ice skating, and then told her to change for lunch. He hired a horse drawn sleigh to take them to an area where he had set up a table for lunch and he made grilled cheese over an open fire. He made her a box with the words burned into it asking her to marry him.

He went so far as to hire a photographer to capture the event, which of course is so fantastic!! She was stunned and surprised and said, “Yes.”

Caitlyn and Kris’ wedding day was a rainy one. Despite the challenge, these two handled it with such calm and grace. I brought along some umbrellas and we went outside for the couple’s first look at each other. We made use of a small covered bridge for some initial portraits and then made our way back to the building where we used a covered porch area and some studio lighting to make use of Creeksbend’s beautiful outdoor scenery. The couple took a chance with the forecast and went on with their plans for an outdoor ceremony. Guests had umbrellas and the weather cleared and the rain lightened just in time for their vows. After the ceremony we were able to sneak back outside and get some more outdoor images of Caitlyn and Kris.

Their event was gorgeous and full of love and laughter. I was so honored to be a part of their beautiful day and so happy to capture it for them.
