I believe wedding photography is very, very important.
I recently expressed these feelings to a potential wedding client who was wrestling with my price tag. I thought I would share my thoughts with you too, dear reader:
When I got married we were on a budget, a tight budget. I put photography as my highest priority in terms of expense, because truthfully, other than my fantastic new spouse, the photographs are what best records and memorializes the day. We wanted an heirloom to pass on to our children. We wanted a visual narrative of our day.
I made cuts in other areas because it was so important to my fiancé and me. I ordered a veil online, found a part-time florist, a budget friendly baker, and bought my dress off the rack for $400!
Many of my friends who got married around the same time chose more budget friendly photography options, and to this day, express regret of their choice in their photographer.
It’s a big choice. You don’t have to choose Poppy Seed Photography. But I am passionate about this, and I would definitely advise all future couples to decide how important those images will be to you later and remember that you generally get what you pay for.
While I would love to work with all budgets, the truth is, I can’t. However, when you hire me, you can be rest assured that you are working with a professional with years of experience, professional equipment, and training. You can be sure that you will have fun enjoying your day, and have beautiful images at the end to record it.
I would love to be a part of your day, but I also understand that budgets are budgets. So, I hope I can work with you, but if I can’t, I wish you the best, most beautiful wedding and an even more wonderful marriage.
